January is the month for catching our breath after the very very busy time before Christmas.
The Christmas season is such a busy time for all Christmas tree growers, but for those of us who retail as well as wholesale our trees the season doesn't end until Christmas Eve!
After a well earned rest over Christmas and New Year there is always clearing up to do, as well as any chipping of unsold trees. It is the time to clean and store away all the equipment, ready for this year's madness and any labels need removing from uncut trees .
The girls in the office are still hard at work tying up the paperwork from Christmas, as the next major job is preparing the budget for 2018.
The boys will be back in February to start preparing ground for transplants and handling the trees that are already in the ground.
Now is the time to start thinking about ordering transplants.
