Rural Leader Grant helps H A Trim to buy a palletiser. 

In 2019 we were awarded a Rural Surrey LEADER grant for a Christmas Tree Palletiser with conveyor belt. 

Funded by the 'European Agricultural Fund For Rural Development' 

 

This enabled us to invest in a specialist tractor mounted palletiser and conveyor belt, supplied by CompacTree which has helped to automate the harvesting of our Christmas trees. With the help of two newly trained staff to operate the tractor and palletiser we were able to cut, net and palletise many of our tree orders in the field and deliver them straight from the field to the customer. This improved our harvest efficiency meaning that our wholesale customers received fresher trees. It also reduced the amount of vehicular movements between field and yard, thereby reducing carbon emissions and keeping local roads clear.
